On April 21, 2025, TicketCo experienced a critical service disruption affecting the entire purchase flow across our platform. The incident began at 16:15 UTC and continued until 21:41 UTC, spanning a total of 5 hours and 26 minutes. During this time, users faced significant issues completing ticket purchases, resulting in a widespread degradation of the purchase experience.
The root cause of the disruption originated with our payment provider, Adyen, which was impacted by a DDoS attack. As Adyen attempted to mitigate the attack, key services we rely on for payment processing became unavailable. This alone disrupted our purchase flow, affecting all users attempting to complete transactions during the affected window.
The most severe impact was observed between 16:23 and 19:15 UTC—a 2 hour and 52 minute periode.
The affected services included order payments and the ticket reservation function. Users attempting to make purchases encountered delays, errors, or were unable to complete transactions altogether.
We recognise the seriousness of this disruption and sincerely apologise to all affected users and partners. We are actively working on reinforcing both our internal queue resilience and our external integration strategies to reduce sensitivity to third-party service interruptions like this one.
